Troy Harvey, Co-founder and CEO at PassiveLogic, will be speaking at the 2022 ASHRAE Annual Conference on Tuesday, June 28th in Toronto, ON, Canada.

The 2022 ASHRAE Annual Conference will provide a hybrid experience by offering both in-person and virtual sessions for attendees. Troy Harvey will be participating in the seminar “The Future of Controls: Transition from Algorithmic to Predictive Control” which will focus on “the pros and cons” of utilizing new technologies — such as model predictive controls — in building management systems.

As part of the seminar, Troy will be presenting on the topic “Digital-Twin Based Control Technology Enables Fully Autonomous Building Systems: Meeting and Exceeding Level 5 Autonomy.” In this session, Troy will discuss paths to enabling autonomous building systems through AI and deep digital twin technology to “[make] optimality, comfort, [and] energy efficiency achievable goals while drastically reducing deployment time.”

The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers — more commonly referred to as ‘ASHRAE’ — is a U.S.-based professional association seeking the advancement of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC&R) technologies and construction. With over 57,000 members across the world, ASHRAE defines itself as “a global society advancing human well-being through sustainable technology for the built environment” and “the go-to source in the HVAC&R industry for standards, education and other resources for engineers.”

Troy Harvey co-founded PassiveLogic in 2016 along with PassiveLogic CTO Jeremy Fillingim and Director of Brand Communications Travis Anna Hallstrom. Troy is an official member of ASHRAE; he previously presented at the 2021 ASHRAE Winter Conference in Chicago and the 2022 ASHRAE Winter Conference in Las Vegas on the topic “Autonomous Buildings Enable Energy Efficiency.”

The Future of Controls: Transition from Algorithmic to Predictive Control” will be moderated by Paul Ehrlich, P.E. of Building Intelligence Group. In addition to Troy Harvey, the panel will include Draguna Vrabie, Ph.D of Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and Jayson Bursill, Ph.D of Delta Controls Inc. The seminar will take place on Tuesday, June 28 from 9:45 AM — 10:45 AM EST at the Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel, Dominion North (2).
